Pokemon Cyllage City Walkthrough
This costal city features a special shop that sells bicycles. Pick one up and cruise around the paved course that winds up through the east cliffs. The Cyllage City Gym is found near the summit, and another Gym Leader is ready to take on all comers.
Step 1
As you enter the Cyllage City, go north a bit to find the local Pokemon Centre. Speak to a man named Farris in the Pokemon Centre and he will offer to trade you his Steelix for a Luvdisc. If you don’t have a Luvdisc, you can fish one up from the sea using the old rod you acquired in the Ambrette Aquarium. It is a good trade to make, since Luvdisc are common and Steelix can be extremely effective in the upcoming battle against the Gym Leader.
Step 2
There is a bicycle shop just across the street from the Pokemon Centre. Head inside to speak with the shop owner. He will give you a free bicycle is you answer his questions correctly. The correct answer is ‘of course!’. Bicycles really do come in more than one colour in the Kalos region.
Step 3
Now that you have got some wheels, speed around the city and speak with every resident you meet. One kind person will offer to massage one of your Pokemon for you, free of charge. Massages are great because they make your Pokemon happy, which in turn increases your friendship with them.
Step 4
Another resident will ask you to take a quiz. If you pass, you will receive three valuable persim berries. Don’t worry if you guess wrong – you can keep trying!
Step 5
A woman on the street just north of the bicycle shop sells soda pop. These refreshing beverages provide your Pokemon with a quick pick-me-up, restoring 60 HP when consumed. The price is right, so go ahead and stock up.
Step 6
Cyllage City features both a boutique and a café. Update your attire at the boutique if you like or do a little mingling with the folks at the café. The café patrons just love showing off their Pokemon and will give you a look at their favourites when you talk to them.
Step 7
Be sure to visit Hotel Cyllage, as the kind folks there will give you several valuable items. Mr Bonding is also waiting in his usual room and will grant you a new O-Power – Prize Money Power.
Step 8
Head up the east hill along the paved road. As you near the first bend, the local Gym Leader, Grant, pays you a visit. Unfortunately, the bicycle race has just ended, but Grant does hand you a consolation prize – HM04 Strength. When used in the field, this move allows Pokemon to shove large boulders out of your way, but it cannot be used in this fashion until you defeat Grant and obtain the Cyllage City Gym Badge.
Step 9
When you have finished sightseeing around Cyllage City, it is time to check out the local gym. Ensure your Pokemon party is well rested and ready for the challenges to come, then ride your bicycle up the east hill and enter the gym.
